In Ochre Emergent, I wanted to continue to push the boundaries of the strict Zorn palette. I pushed the tension between the warmth of the Springbok and a cool atmospheric abstraction. By leaning into the high value contrast and using cold wax for texture, the Springbok dissolves into the negative space.
